Abstract

Honey Encryption is an encryption method where ciphertext when decrypted with an incorrect key still gives valid looking plaintext. It is a methodology to deceive the adversary. The standard encryptions are used, decryption with the wrong key gives gibberish which can easily be identified and in a way makes brute force possible on the ciphertext. Honey encryption defeats this attack.
