Demystifying Enterprise Public Key Infrastructure null Hyderabad Meet 27 April 2024 Monthly Meet
Abstract
Anji covers the topic called “Demystifying Enterprise Public Key Infrastructure” and he planned to cover simple practical Demo of PKI using opensource tool. Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) is a system used to manage digital certificates and enable secure communication over insecure networks like the internet. It consists of various components including Certificate Authorities (CAs), Registration Authorities (RAs), and certificate repositories. PKI works on the principle of public and private key cryptography, where each user has a pair of keys for encryption and decryption. Digital certificates bind public keys to specific entities, ensuring authenticity and trust in online interactions.
Benefits of PKI include enhanced security, trust assurance, and regulatory compliance. It finds applications in various domains such as secure email communication, website authentication, and document signing. However, PKI implementation comes with challenges like complexity, cost, and security risks. It requires careful management of certificate lifecycles, adherence to standards, and implementation of security best practices.
He will try to explain on how PKI is setup and managed in Enterprise setting with his presentation.
