Today, every developer needs to have a certain level of security awareness. Unfortunately, getting started with security often seems challenging and impossible. However, it does not need to be. Join this free workshop to get a solid introduction to web security.

This workshop introduces you to the OWASP top 10, an influential document of the 10 most risky vulnerabilities in web applications. Lectures provide an in-depth look into common attacks and their countermeasures. Challenge-based labs allow you to try out attacks and help you think about defenses. You will walk away with a set of best practices that will immediately make you a better software engineer.

Please bring your laptop with you and make sure you have a modern browser installed

• 09:45 - 10:45 - Security fundamentals for HTTP applications


• 10:45 - 11:30 - Lab sessions


• 11:30 - 12:30 - Server-side Injection vulnerabilities

• 13:15 - 14:15 - Understanding XSS attacks and defenses
